News Summary

  • 6/3/11 - Crest Road Race. The Eastern Region Road Race League got off to a flying start and VCRs Ben Wright and Andy Elderfield were there to represent the club. Andy retired after two laps but Ben rode well to finish 26th in a race that saw half the finishers over a minute down.
  • 6/3/11 - Gorrick Spring Series Round 3: VCR traveled to Hampshire where Paul Thomas won the Open event beating a field of 85 riders and dominating the event from the start. Bob Bardell also rode and finished a creditable 49th.
  • 13/3/11 - Mud Sweat and Gears Warmup Series: Building on his success only a week earlier Paul Thomas chalked up another victory in the 90 minute Senior Mens race. Bob Bardell was 13th in the 90 min Veteran Male, just beating Mark Wellsted from Amis Velo. In the Youth Male event Will Kearse finished 3rd & Oliver Edwards finished 4th.
  • 20/3/11 - Andy Elderfield rode the Glendene LVRC road race, 48 miles of rolling hills around Thaxted in Essex. About 50 riders turned up for this, the first LVRC Road race of the season, on a dry but cold day. The two Finchley Racing Team riders in the breakaway were assisted by the disruptive efforts of their five team mates in the main bunch and the event was won with ease by Finchleys Trevor Burke. Andy finished in the bunch after trying hard to bridge the gap to the breakaway midway through the race.
  • 27/3/11 - Andy Elderfield rode the VC Braintree Road Race, was active throughout in breakaways throughout the race and luckily avoided the crash in the final 300 meters to finish in the bunch. The 48 miles were covered at an average of 24.5 mph !
  • 27/3/11 - Mud Sweat and Gears Warmup Series: Another victory for VC Revolution! Oliver Edwards was faced with a course not to his liking but still finished 1st in the youth category, and in the top 5 of the overall. Will Kearse also put a good ride in coming 2nd in the youth category cementing a 1st overall in the series.
