VCR Time Trial

VC Revolution promote an annual 24 mile Open Time Trial, on the sporting E22/24 course, starting in Birch and taking in Tiptree, Great Totham, Heybridge, Goldhanger, Great Wigborough and Layer-de-la-Haye before finishing outside Garlands Farm back in Birch Heath.

The first running of the event, in March 2008, saw riders face wintry conditions with snow falling as the event commenced. 22 riders completed the event, which was won by Tim Bayley of Arctic Premier RT in 59.26.

For 2009 the event moved to August and was won by Peter Balls (West Suffolk Wheelers) with a rapid 53.30. Second place was claimed by VCR rider Darren Frostick with a time of 55.17.

The 2010 edition was run on 8th August 2010 and won by of Cycle Premier who set a new course record of 53.08.
