Thetford forest Mountain Bike Winter Series

Event 4 - 10th Feb 2008

Sunday 10th February 2008 , saw round 4 of the Thetford winter series , three riders made the trip to Thetford representing VC Revolution , Paul Thomas , Billy Bramman and Roger Holmes. All three riders took part in the 2Hr event.

The course was a 7 mile lap starting with a long fire road sprint down into Thetford's Finest singletrack , this was followed by a short sharp climb , followed by more singletrack. Five and a half miles into the course we encountered the hardest part of the course, a long steep climb that tested the legs, just as you hoped the climb was over you turned through the trees to encounter more climbing up into the start / Finish area.

The weather could not of been more different from the last event with glorious sunshine from the start, and many riders opted for semi slick racing tyres.

From the start the racing was frantic as 200 riders in the 2hr event raced away, down towards the first section of singletrack , all 3 VC Revolution riders managed to hold there positions going into the woods.
 
All was going well until the 4th lap , I punctured and dropped several places.

Paul Thomas finished 13th in class, Roger Holmes finished 76th in class and Billy Bramman finished 155th in class.
 
After the race Myself and Paul Thomas were treated to a free massage by the girls from Norwich university. A perfect end to a excellent days racing.
