Bournemouth Jubilee Wheelers Hilly 42km TT

Winchester based VCR member and established time triallist Mike Naulls rode the Bournemouth Jubilee Wheelers Hilly Time Trial on Sunday 22 March.

This event was held on the P454 course under blue skies and warm sunny conditions and was to be competed for over a 42km course around East Stoke and Wool in Dorset, taking in the two tough climbs around East Lulworth.

Mike had the disadvantage of not knowing this particular course but got into a good rhythm on the first lap with some decent speed on the descents. Perhaps a bit too good on one corner by almost hitting a marshall !

As the second lap came around Mike found himself being caught by one of the seeded riders which is never a nice feeling but he still stuck to his guns. Up East Lulworth for the second time and Mike found himself being snapped by photographers at the point where he was suffering the most but kept at it and again put the power down on the descents.

Caught again close to the finish, Mike had nothing left in the tank but crossed the line with a respectable 1.13.33 for his efforts.
